About The Project
Dogs play a special part in our lives as gay men. Dogs are our devoted divas, our canine confidants, and the life of any fabulous party. Dogs accept us for who we are, and we love them right back!
Gay Men and Their Dogs is a creative book project that chronicles the extraordinary bond between gay men and their dogs. This project showcases the diversity of gay life, which for many of us, includes our four-legged friends. If you are a gay man (or couple/group of men) with a dog(s), please take a few minutes to share how your dog makes your life better, by completing the short survey.
Why Contribute?
By sharing your story, you may be featured in a forthcoming illustrated anthology about gay men and their dogs. So snap a photo of you with your mutt and tell us why your dog is so important to your life.
How to Contribute?
Complete the short survey by answering a few questions and sharing up to 3 pictures of you with your dog(s). We are looking for pictures that portray your true character, and you with your dog in daily life. If you are a farmer, farm! If you drive a scooter, scoot. If you love ice cream, share a cone with your pup. Anything goes - have fun! Just show us who you and your dog are, and the special bond you share. We are looking to showcase different dogs and their owners – all ages, backgrounds, and breeds welcome!
How Long Does the Survey Take?
About 5-10 minutes. To be considered for the book, we also ask that you upload up to 3 pictures that capture the distinct character of you and your dog(s).
What Happens After I Complete the Survey?
Once we have collected enough submissions, we will make selections for inclusion in the book to reflect a diversity of dogs and owners. If your submission is selected for the collection, we will contact you directly via the information you provide; otherwise, your survey responses will be permanently deleted. If you are selected, you will have the opportunity to confirm your submission prior to any publication. If you have any questions about this artistic project, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me. As an artistic collection, this project is not considered research and is entirely voluntary. By choosing to submit your responses to this survey, you freely consent to share this information for consideration in the collection, Gay Men and Their Dogs.
